Aveek passed out from National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in 2002 working in the Indian fashion and textile industry for over two decades. He has assisted eminent designer Anamika Khanna early in his career. He has worked as a design consultant taking independent projects with various export houses and MSMEs thereby gaining international aesthetics with in-depth knowledge of diverse traditional handlooms, age old embroidery, dyeing and printing techniques.
Aveek has won numerous accolades as an emerging talent showcasing his creation in DSYN thereby grabbing the attention of Indian fashion legend, Ritu Kumar in Delhi. He was chosen as one of the most promising designers in the fashion design category by design guru Raghuvendra Rathore and celebrated artist Jogen Chowdhury in Graphite India’s NIRMAAN COLLECTIVE.Hailing from the kaleidoscopic city of joy – KOLKATA, Aveek draws inspiration heavily from the city’s popular culture, the people and the folk lore of rural Bengal.
